LANDSCAPE SKETCH COMP

Saturday March 14 from 8:30am to 3:00pm 1-Day Outdoor Sketch Adventure

Landscape Sketch Comp is coming up! There is no architectural and perspective sketching here, just beautiful nature. It’s plenty to consider when grasping good composition is the goal.

Our locations are always close to LA, yet one feels transported in these wonderful places. The way it works is that we spend an hour or so at various spots along enchanting trails. It’s easy to do several sketches or a single sketch. We will have a discussion of ideas with handouts and I will be working with you individually along the way.

Anyone is welcome as we will have a good mix of beginners and professionals wanting to experiment with new ideas. All drawing and painting tools are acceptable except oil paint. Anything you can stuff into a backpack.

Don’t forget bottled water, a packed lunch, and a sweater or jacket. Some of us will be sitting on a rock or on a slope and some of will bring a light-to-carry canvas folding chair. Take your pick. I will give you the location soon. Hope to see you there!!

Special Guild pricing of $160 per Seminar/Workshop, with discounts for purchase of two seminars or all three. Open to the public. Register online at GnassStudios.com https://bit.ly/2LqBYxU Or contact Karl at karlgnass@gmail.com

Hello,

TWO FIGURE COMPOSITION

— Saturday, April 13

— 1-Day Intensive Seminar/Workshop

Two Figure Composition is coming up soon! I invite you to join me for this special intensive seminar/workshop offered for the only time this year.

For those of you who joined me in the Landscape Sketch Composition last month and enjoyed my thoughts on composition, we will be continuing these themes in this new seminar “Two Figure Comp”.

Remember, composition for us is everything.

Working with two figures gives us a chance to explore the values of composition. We will not just copy what we see, but will learn to visually express an idea or a story inspired by the poses. We will discuss how we can apply these same discoveries to one figure composition, multiple figures, and even to abstract composition.

Any drawing level is welcome as we have a good mix of beginners and professionals.

Special Guild pricing of $160 per Seminar/Workshop, with discounts for purchase of two or more seminars during the year. Open to the public.
