Cartoon Saloon is an Irish animation film and television studio, highly acclaimed for its beautiful 2-D hand-drawn animated feature-length films, ‘The Secret of Kells‘ and ‘Song of the Sea‘ which both received Academy Award nominations. Angelina Jolie’s ‘jolie pas productions’ is a producer of “The Breadwinner”, their newest feature film, premiering worldwide at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Earlier this year, their studio in Kilkenny was visited by royal guests Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall. Cartoon Saloon is expanding and has partnered with Mercury Filmworks to create ‘Lighthouse Studios’, a new 2D-focused animation studio to develop children’s and family TV entertainment, for multiplatform global distribution. www.cartoonsaloon.ie
